Lose the signal. Keep the mountain.

SkiMap keeps downloaded ski maps available without mobile reception. Download your resort or mountain area while connected, wait for it to finish, then open the saved map before you travel. Live friend locations need a connection for new updates.

With SkiMap, you can explore the terrain in 3D and keep downloaded map content available offline. Make the download part of your evening-before routine, alongside checking the forecast and packing your gloves.

In SkiMap, open Settings and look for Offline Ski Resorts. Menu names can vary slightly by app version.

1. Search for your resort and select the area you plan to ski.
2. Start the map download while connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
3. Wait for the download to finish before closing the app.
4. Open the saved map, briefly switch off mobile data and Wi-Fi, and make sure the area is there. Reconnect when you’re done.

Your saved map stays with you. Live group locations use a connection to bring in your friends’ latest positions. Set up both before the group heads out.

Think beyond your first lift. Open the map around your starting point, the places you expect to ski and your planned finish. That makes it easier to see whether you have downloaded the area you want.

Travelling with friends? Have each person download their own map, then choose a named meeting point together. A little preparation saves a lot of “which lift did you mean?” later.

Use the official resort map for its piste legend, and check the operator’s current lift and slope notices before setting off. On the mountain, follow signs and closures: a saved map shows the area, while the resort tells you what is open today.
