Friends on the mountain

Different runs. Same crew.

Some want another lap. Some want lunch. Put your group on the map with SkiMap, so “where are you?” is easier to answer.

How do I find my ski friends with SkiMap?

#

Create a SkiMap group, share its invitation code and have your friends join. Group members can see shared positions on the map while connected and with the required location permissions. Choose a named meeting point before splitting up.

Plan a few runs together, split up when you want to, and choose a clear spot to meet again.

One group. One code. You’re ready.

#

Set up your group while everyone has a connection. The main controls below may have slightly different labels in your installed version.

  1. Open Friends and choose Create New Group.
  2. Share the group code with the people you are skiing with.
  3. Friends choose Join Existing Group and enter the code.
  4. Allow the required location permissions and check everyone can see the group before heading out.

Keep the group connected

#

Live location updates need a connection on the phones sharing and receiving them. If someone loses reception, their last position can stay on the map until updates resume.

Agree on a named meeting point as well. A saved map and a simple meeting plan are useful companions when the mountain has other ideas about mobile reception.

Your group, for your day

#

Share your group code with the people you want to join. When you want to stop participating, use Leave Group; your phone’s settings also let you manage SkiMap’s location permission.
