Are Kronplatz and Plan de Corones the same ski area?
#Yes. Kronplatz and Plan de Corones are names for the same ski area. Maps and travel information use German and Italian place names, including Valdaora / Olang and Perca / Percha. Use the exact lift-station name when planning your arrival or meeting friends.
Keep the local name of your lift station with your accommodation details. “Meet at Kronplatz” is less useful than naming the exact station.
| Names you may see | Use them to plan |
|---|---|
| Brunico / Bruneck and Riscone / Reischach[1] | Locate the town and the Riscone lift base in your travel plan. |
| Valdaora / Olang[1] | Look for the Olang I and II lift names on the piste map. |
| Perca / Percha[1] [2] | Find the rail connection to the Ried gondola. |
| San Vigilio di Marebbe / St. Vigil in Enneberg[1] | Match the village name in your booking with the map; Miara is one of the lift names to recognise. |
Choose the ski-area map first
#Kronplatz’s official map page offers a local ski-area map and a separate Dolomiti Superski map. For a day at Kronplatz, start with the local one: it is the useful scale for identifying your lift, piste names and return point.
The page currently links a 2026/27 edition. Use the same official page when preparing a later trip so you can pick up the latest edition. A wider regional map is useful context, but it is not a day’s route plan.

Arriving by train? Look at Perca–Percha.
#The Perca–Percha railway stop connects directly to the Ried gondola. It gives you a clear starting point if you want to reach the mountain by train.
Check your train journey and the lift’s current operating information together. A ski pass does not itself include the train ticket; the Kronplatz Guest Pass has separate travel benefits. Use the official transport information to check what applies to your stay.
Save the name Perca–Percha for the return journey as well. The station you need is more useful than the general name of the ski area when you are organising your finish.

Plan the return before the first run
#Before skiing away from your starting area, find the place you need to reach at the end of the day. It might be your car park, a lesson meeting point, a bus stop or the railway connection. Share the exact name with your group.
Use the official piste legend to choose runs within your ability, and check lift closing times and current signs on the day. If you are unsure about your return, ask resort staff early rather than building the plan around a last-minute connection.
- Save your starting lift and return point.
- Choose a named meeting spot your whole group can identify.
- Check the return journey as well as the outward one.
Put the names into perspective
#Once you recognise the names, a 3D view helps put the mountain around them. SkiMap brings that terrain perspective together with recording, so you can explore the map before a run and look back on your day afterwards.
Find the area you want in the app and download it before heading out. Keep the official resort map handy for its piste legend and current operating information.
